I know it’s not an animation post, but……. Well, my wife just opened her digital scrapbooking website
There are so many cool papers there that I’m thinking about using some of them as textures for my short film.
Speaking of my short film, I’m already working on the storyboards and very soon I’ll be posting some images here.

It has been a while since my last post, but I have a good excuse for not posting more often
I was hired at Blizzard as a character animator in the cinematics department, and moved from Brasil to California. Sweeeeeeettt!! I still need to get settled here in O.C, but as soos as possible I’ll start posting again.

It’s really great that after a couple of years my short film is still being downloaded by several people every month. Once in a while I get a message asking me how I did the bagkgrounds, how I put everything together, what my working process is like, etc. So I decided to upload a few images that will help explain it. It’s nothing fancy, really, but I think it will answer some questions. I’d also like to thank all the nice emails I get about ‘Run, Dragon, Run’. Thanks a lot guys.

As I mentioned before, I’ve been working on several cool Pespi Lime commercials lately. Unfortunately, most of them are only aired here in Brazil, and I’m not authorized to upload the videos to my website. But here are a couple of pics:
This one here is called “Breasts”. Pretty obvious, huh?

In the second one, the limes are in NY City and decide to call his clumsy giant friend Jr. to bring them a Pepsi Lime can.

Just a note; the trunk, the SUV and the ground are CGI.

Right now I’m working on the characters design and the storyboards. I have to admit that the boards are not quite there yet, so I’ll wait a little bit until I upload them.
The fist character is a art critic and the second one is a mover.

Here it is…my first attempt at realistic animation. I’ll probably tweak it a little bit more, and upload another version in the next few days, but that’s what I have for now.
I had a great time doing this exercise and I learned a lot, really, but I have to be honest; there is a long road ahead of me. I found it really challenging; you have to pay attention to all the subtle details and make it believable and at the same time you have to make it appealing. I guess the animation is still a little bit cartoony, and that’s one of the things that I want to improve on my next exercise.

Browsing the net I found this really cool website:
http://www.methodstudios.com/
There a bunch of nice commercials there (most of them with awsome special fx) to download.

Watching my rell I realized that I needed two things; a nice dialogue piece and a more “realistic/less cartoony” action. So I’m working on these two animations now. The fight animation is 99% done, and I just need to polish it a little bit more, and soon I’ll be posting it here (probably on the weekend). The dialogue is not there yet, but I post a WIP here too. Stay tuned!!

Belive it or not I’ve been working on my short film. Not as much as I’d like to, but I’m done with the story (I rewrote it a couple of times) and the characters designs are almost there. One of these days I asked a friend of mine, Allan Rabelo, who by the way is an awsome storyboard artist, to help me with the boards. The only small problem is that he’s as much busy as I am. Let’s see what happens.

I’ve been working on a couple of commercials lately and one of them was for a Pepsi Lime campaign. A really fun project to work on! The first one is called ” Confusão” and it’s already been aired. You can watch it here:

Soon more more commercials will be aired and I’ll post the links here.
